State Pre-K Teacher
Genesis Early Learning Center is seeking an experienced, passionate and organized Lead Teacher join our team and work in our new State Pre-K classroom, which will be opening in September 2019. Recently our program scored a 5.11 on ECERS (and even higher for ITERS) and we have plans to apply to be a 5 star BrightStars program. This is a school calendar year position (late Aug-June) with a competitive benefits package that includes pay parity to public school system, medical, dental, retirement savings plan, paid time off and holidays.
This job requires planning and implementing a developmentally appropriate and RIELDS aligned curriculum, observing and documenting child assessment data and conducting family engagement opportunities such as parent teacher conferences and family events. Requirements include but are not limited to supervising teacher assistants and per diem staff to ensure compliance with and implementation of RIDE CECE Standards, DCYF Regulations, Rhode Island Department of Education Early Learning Standards, Genesis Personnel Policies, The Creative Curriculum and developmentally appropriate practices (DAP) as defined by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and Caring For Our Children to ensure that all children have the opportunity for a high quality, nurturing, and safe learning experience.
20 hrs/year professional development required.
Applicants must possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. RIDE birth-grade 2 certification desired. Applicants should have at least one year of teaching experience. English/Spanish bilingual desired, but not required. RIELDS training relevant to position strongly desired, but willingness to complete training permitted.
