Enrollment Assistant

Genesis Center, a nonprofit organization whose mission is “to provide the highest quality education, job training and support services to people of diverse cultures so that they may achieve economic independence and participate fully in society” is seeking a full-time Enrollment Assistant.

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Student Services Director, the Enrollment Assistant is responsible for the general duties that support the enrollment process at the Genesis Center, including dissemination of information, collection of student information, data entry, coordination and delivery of pre-tests, and the implementation of orientations in collaboration with other staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

  • Conduct outreach and recruitment to inform potential applicants about program offerings.

  • Provide information to adults and families who seek the services offered by the Genesis Center and respond to inquiries about the Center’s services.

  • Conduct the initial eligibility screening of participants.

  • Maintain testing schedule for prospective students.

  • Deliver and proctor CASAS testing and other assessments as required.

  • Promote linkage between adult services and child care center through dissemination of information and assistance in enrollment as needed.

  • Maintain applicant database for the Center, ensuring timely data entry. Develop reports as needed.

  • Work with the Enrollment Coordinator to create and implement enrollment services and orientations.

  • Work with the Family Support Specialists-PB and Careers Specialists to coordinate student screenings and orientations to aid in deliberate and effective student placements.

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of enrollment policies and procedures for the Center.

  • Performs other duties as needed.

Qualifications (includes professional & legal standards, knowledge, skills and demonstrated abilities required):

  • Bilingual English-Spanish; ability to speak other languages a plus.

  • High school diploma/GED required.

  • Ability to organize large amounts of information and follow processes through from beginning to end.

  • Proficiency with computers and office technology.

  • Experience working with diverse populations.

  • Sensitivity and commitment to the Genesis Center mission; understanding and appreciation of special problems and stressors of refugee and immigrant families; and respect for cultural differences.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team and to be flexible and accept change.

  • Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in all aspects of work, including professional

  • Ability to prioritize, organize & control work flow and manage data for timely and accurate completion of projects.

Job Type: Full-time: M-F for 37.5 hours, with a combination of daytime and evening hours.

Salary: $11.00 to $12.00 /hour
