CNA Training Instructor (4/12/19)

Job Description

Genesis Center, a nonprofit organization whose mission is “to provide the highest quality education, job training and support services to people of diverse cultures so that they may achieve economic independence and participate fully in society,” is seeking a full-time RN or LPN (37.5 hours per week) to deliver instruction for its CNA Training Program.

The CNA Training Instructor will work with Genesis Center’s dynamic team to develop and implement a mission-driven, client-centered, and outcome-focused training curriculum that facilitates acquisition of skills and competencies required for RI's Nursing Assistant license. Genesis Center’s Brides to Career Opportunities program model includes occupational training and integrates adult basic education, financial literacy, technology and work readiness into the coursework. The CNA Training Instructor will collaborate with the Center’s workforce development staff to deliver comprehensive programming that supports adults in gaining the occupational, academic, employment, and interpersonal skills that they will need to obtain employment and advance in a career pathway.

Job Qualifications

  • 1 year or more experience in nursing

  • Associate Degree required

  • R.N. or L.P.N.

  • Experience in providing education or training to adults preferred

  • Thorough knowledge of RI Nursing Assistant regulations, competencies, and career pathways in the healthcare sector

Candidates should also have experience working with diverse populations and sensitivity and commitment to the Genesis Center mission, which includes an understanding and appreciation of special problems and stressors of refugee and immigrant families.
